A COMMITMENT TO CARING

At the heart of OKA is a commitment to caring. That means collaborating with global craftspeople to create timeless, quality designs that inspire stylish, practical living. By designing enduring pieces using ethical production, we respect our planet, its people and the next generation.

We Are a Certified B Corporation

We believe in walking the walk, which is why we became a certified B Corporation in 2023. The milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental and social responsibility, including our mission to reduce our impact on the planet and positively contribute to the communities we interact with. We know we've still got a way to go, but we're committed to making better choices every day in how we do business. Check back for more updates and initiatives in the coming months.

This certification from non-profit organisation B Lab demonstrates our dedication to holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards of sustainability and transparency, where every action, no matter the size, counts. We'll appear on B Lab’s directory of B Corp-certified businesses, joining a global community of like-minded companies that prioritise the planet and people alongside profitability.

Enhancing All Lives

We continue to inspire and enable our people and partners to live more sustainable lives while fostering a culture of collaboration to create a positive and lasting impact on our communities.

Our trusted suppliers, many of whom we have long-lasting relationships with, are required to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct. We're rolling out a risk-based approach to auditing our supply chain and aim to have more than 50% of our suppliers audited by a third-party by the end of 2025.

We're a proudly female-founded business and 63% of our colleagues identity as female, while we're working hard to increase diversity across all teams including leadership and management.

Creating For a Better Planet

We continue to craft timeless, quality pieces that help people create beautiful, sustainable homes while reducing waste and using more ethically- and responsibly-sourced materials. Our designs wear in, not out, with care guides that furnish people with guidelines for looking after pieces so they last.

We have science-based goals that are aligned with the Paris Agreement's target of limiting global warming to a 1.5 degrees celsius increase by 2030. We offset our scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by contributing to two global projects: The Great Bear Forest Carbon Project and the Guatemalan Conservation Coast Project. And all our electricity sourced in the UK comes from renewable sources and we are working towards reducing our reliance on gas.

Our retail bags are made from 100% paper that can be recycled, while we reuse our cardboard boxes in-store and flat-packed boxes in our Warehouse.

Designing through Innovation and Craftsmanship

Our makers are the heart of our collections, whether it's nurturing traditional craftsmanship or supporting artisanal communities.

We strive to source high-quality materials and fabrics that will age beautifully and truly stand the test of time.

Our restoration specialist, based in our UK workshop, repurposes and repairs designs to prolong their lifespan and avoid them being discarded.
